500 ml bottle purchased at Lukas, KCMO. Pour is a hazy golden copper with a firm 3 inch white head. Pretty in the glass. There is quite a few small carbonation bubbles slowly floating their way to the top of the glass. Aroma is a citric sour wheat and freshly cut hay. Some yeastiness in the back of the nose. Taste is mostly the wheat, sour, lemons, some nice yeastiness to the finish. Palate is medium and quite mouth coating. Refreshing beer.

Gusher! The half-liter bottle oveflows immediately upon opening; in my glass, the explosive froth settles into a pale amber liquid, murky with floaties and overzealous carbonation. Head retention: zero. Pleasing musky aromas of chamomille and bubblegum wrapper, lemon, bread dough, and flowers. The taste starts as a cointoss between spice and candyish honeyed plum … and savory flavors win as the beer finishes with spiced pumpkin pie phenols. Nearly banana-less, and featuring a refreshing, though brief, tartness. Oddly, as carbonation wanes, so do the interesting flavors, leaving only a thin, reedy citric sensation. The lifeless, watery palate is oily with an almost chalky friction. If any other aspect of this beer were as good as the aroma, it would kick ass. As with most things, "organic" is again a sales gimmick and not an indication of quality.

The beer pours to a murky straw colored body with a fizzy white head. The aroma is sweet pineapple wheat cobbler. Very estery with coconut. The flavor is an intense concentrated wheat, pineapple, clove, and sweet rolls. The palate is fulfilling. Medium bodied, crisp, clean, wheat, and citrus.

Pours fluffy white head. Aroma is yeast, banana, and german hops. Taste is higher alcohol than is really there. But I like the balance that the dry hop flavor and perceived alcohol gives to the sweet wheat and banana flavor. There’s something that I really like about that balance. It doesn’t linger, but it feels like a shot of scotch chased by a cupcake in your belly - in a good way.

Very, very interesting, especially as an organic. Compared to Schneider’s original weisse, this one really packs in the carbonation, which slows down the drinking. Its appearance and drinking experience is much less elegant than the original Schneider Weisse. A little too bready/yeasty taste, but hardly a bad flavor. Would probably try again.

...bottle. Good representation of the style, of course, from a great German brewer. Alcohol is masked well with the wheat malt, and hints of citrus and yeast. Organic, which I suppose is another plus, in ingredient quality. Slight spicy notes, and I think this beer is definitely worth a try if you can find the stuff.

(Bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of Hildigöltur/MoritzF. Hazy golden with an off-white head. Distinct aroma of yeast and banana. Good full body with notes of sweet banana and plenty of yeast. Some spiciness and no real bitterness. A lovely Hefe. 270408
