Poured an amber color with an average frothy white head that mostly diminished with fair lacing. Moderate sour citrus clove aroma. Medium body with a sticky texture. Medium sweet flavor with a small bitter finish of moderate duration. Drinkable but not my style. Glouglouburp (2881), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 7, 2006 Cloudy yellow-orange with a medium white head. Very fruity nose (mainly bananas). Taste is like a breakfast and dessert combo with marmalade, bananas, apple pie, lemon pie. A bit citrusy. Finish is more hoppy than I expected for such a fruity weisen. Another good one from this Weissbierbrauerei, I’m glad Kelheim ended-up on the right side of the wall. JoeMcPhee (5030), Jackson Heights, New York, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 4, 2006 500 ml bottle. The hefeiest of hefewiezens I’ve ever seen. Thick, opaque, milkshake appearance, orange/golden with a thick white head. Very sweet aroma of banana, light clove as well. Some lemony citrus notes as well. Flavour is quite good initially, wheaty spice and a wonderful balance of yeasty fruit and spice. Slight citric acidity into the finish. Late bitterness as well. As it warms, some peppery notes seem to come forward and the balance goes a little out of whack. Spiciness increases at the expense of the fruit. Quite different from other hefes. webjedi (249), Silver Spring, Maryland, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 3, 2006 Beautiful looking beer. Stong hints of bannana and wheat. Slight hint of clove. Pour and off-amber golden yellow, and very, very fizzy. Head dissiaptes quickly from a 1-2 inch froth down to a 1/16th inch head within a minute. Almost has a "oily layer" on top. Slightly sweet a watery, but lacking bitterness. The mouthfeel is smooth and silky. Citrus tends towards an orange/apple side, when detected.
