First taste was quite bitter and that was a surprise but the hefe flavors quickly settled in. What a super beer! Quite dry for a hefe but lots of personality make for a delightful bottle of beer. artfink (28), I’m everywhere Fokker!, Florida, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 14, 2005 this brew has somthing to do with being the "origional" or "lost" recipe or somthing like that ( not really sure of the whole story ) regardless it is pretty tasty. the usuall banana, clove, citrus elements are present but a nice aroma of citrus blossoms and banana are really noticable. not as consistant as the "origional" but still nice and worth a pour. moseefus (58), Omaha, Nebraska, USA

The driest, and least sweet of the wheats I had this day. Would make an excellent spring/summer beer. Nel (180), Virginia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 5, 2005 Bubbles continually emerge from the bottom of the glass only to quickly dissipate once contact with the surface is made. A casual glance into the brew reveals only murky orange colors that seem to catch the light differently from one another. Like a mood ring the colors shift from gold to light amber to a restless brown, to a deep orange . The taste and smell also does not dissapoint. The baker uses clove and vanilla to sweaten his bananna bread. SpudClampDawg (1027), Jasper, Indiana, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 4, 2005 Aroma is mostly over ripe banana with some malted wheat earthiness in the background. The short-lived creamy head offsets the prickly mouthfeel. More clovey banana in the body, as well as cookie, lemon and vanilla. This Hefe wraps up nicely with a smooth, wheat enhanced finish. This may be reaching the end of its shelf life, as some sourness appears as well. Fish (439), Kure, Japan

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 21, 2005 Poured a slightly dark orangey body into its official weizen glass. Big banana aroma. A little bit of citrus in there as well. Flavor is the same, uninteresting. Not nearly as good as the other German Hefe I had today. Still, it was nice. bridge (659), Sydney, Australia
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 21, 2005 Updated: May 3, 2007Cloudy orange with no head, and therefore no lacing. Some nice tiny bubbles cruising their way to the top of the glass redeem it for a passing mark on the appearance, though. Banana based aroma, of course, with some bugglegum and peppery spice. Delicious refreshing flavour the ensures the beer slides down with the greatest of ease. Slightly bitter and well balanced, it is very sessionable (is that a word?). Medium bodied with a warming alcohol glow, this a good one.Re-rate: Poured with a big head that hung around a little while then disappeared to nothing. Sort of milky aroma, and probably has the strongest clove notes of any beer I’ve had. Still one of my most favourite hefes. Go organic!!
