| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jul 29, 2005 Held onto a bottle of this for quite some time (for reasons unknown) and decided it might be time to taste it. I became a little hesitant when I cracked it as it failed to pssshhhrt! Poured it into an Aventinus glass, it was relatively lifeless, raising only a thin white pad of foam, that managed to last the length. The body of beer a clean hazy gold with only the lightest amount of fine carbonation popping to the surface. Subtle spicy and grainy nose, sweet bubblegum and overly ripe bananas with a little note of tangy fruit. The aroma was quite pleasant but lacked the oomph of a good hefe, as did the flavour. Thin, watery body, light and spritzy in carbonation, it had an odd plastic feel mid-palate and a light lactic and gluggy feel in the back of the mouth, before finishing off with a short herbal and sweet swallow. Flavours were subtle with only a little of the normal bubblegum and clove-like phenols and fruity esters associated with a good example of the style. A little disappointed as I thought this may top the Weihenstephan and Spaten offerings, but it just lacked in all aspects. May be the higher alcohol content to blame for its lack of body and flavour. Still, a balanced and clean hefe-weizen that was easily quaffable. DuffMan (2764), the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, Canada
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 19, 2005 Hazy yellow gold, moderate head, no lace, brown yeast sediment. Citrus oil, sweet spice (not clove exactly, but that sort of thing), and honey aromas. Sweet, wheat, a little yeasty, sweet spice, a bit fizzy on the carbonation. Overall a good weizen. mustangjoe (172), redondo beach, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 13, 2005 Bottle. Poured a nice cloudy yellow. Very small head that did not last very long, no lacing. Plenty of carbonation, and a little more thin and watery then some other hefes. Overall, pretty good, but I would choose plenty of other hefes before this one. CamdenD (606), Madrid, Spain

Something just tastes a bit off to me, especially in the palate. Dont know why I ddnt notice this before. Good, but not great. Mahrs weisse and the regular Schneider Weisse are much better.
