Aroma is about right for the style - some hint of apple as well. A well balanced hefe without being outstanding. Lunkie (1020), Glen Iris, Australia
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 1/5 | 9/20 | Feb 13, 2005 Malty hop aroma. Cloudy amber colour with good head that dissapears as soon as it appears. Dead flavour like drinking nothing then a hint of honey and malt. Flat palate. yayforbeer (648), Orange Park, Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 5, 2005 Clear dark amber pour. Small creamy head that doesnt last long. Aroma is fruity with apple and banana notes. Flavor is also fruity and a little tart, with an apple cider character. Light to medium body. Fairly good and pleasant to drink but not remarkable. hershiser2 (923), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 2, 2005 Very simple, non-showy beer... but it’s very smooth and drinkable. There’s nothing special about it, it’s not something you should seek out, but when you have one, it’s a refreshing change. DrunkAsASkunk (847), Lynnwood, Washington, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 25, 2005 This beer must’ve been pretty old because sediment was the name of the game during this pour. Goldeny yellow clear color aside from the million micro particles floating around in my beer. Very little fizzy soapy head which faded quickly. The aroma is cloves, banana, grapefruit, cinnamon, peppermint...heavy peppermint and a slight hint of pears. The flavor is medium to full bodied and long lasting. Pepperminty once again, with cloves, banana, grapefruits and pearish dryness. Dry malty and mildly sour finish. Good mouthfeel, full and round, sticky mouthfeel. Well rounded hefe. | 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 20/20 | Jan 24, 2005 Appearance: slightly cloudy and yellow-orange; tiny, fizzy head. (Now, stick with me for a few sentences here and be sure to read this whole review, because I don’t want this next part on aroma to throw you…) Smells of sour milk and yeast. Definitely a weird smell for a hefe, but I carried on. After tasting it, my thoughts on the strange aroma dissipated. Unbelievably great tasting – sweet and yeasty, with predominant elements of vanilla, bananas and cloves springing up on the palate. A full tasting weiss that doesn’t cut any corners and does equal justice to all components that contribute to this beer. Damn, this beer is great. The best tasting beer I’ve had out of all beers in the weiss category. Too bad the marks against it in the "aroma" category bump it down a couple notches and prevent this weiss from acheiving a perfect rating. Choos (504), Taylors Hill, Australia
