Pours a crystal clear dark brown and looks like a freshly upturned snow globe with all the floaties knocking around in it. Creamy tan head. Gimungously clovey nose. Not the most pronounced nose of a hefeweizen ever, but certainly the most amplified clove note I’ve come across. The body is a little on the syrupy side, but only just (it’s still pretty watery at the same time--these are relative statements given the lightness of the beer). Tons of dark spicy cloviness stampeding across the mid-palate. Strange little bugger, really. Soonah (975), Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 10, 2009 Poured a turbid golden brown with a sizable white head and good lacing. The aroma is wheat mainly with light clove and citrus. The flavor is a blend of wheat, banana, malt and citrus. The mouthfeel was thin to medium, the finish clean and it never tasted gritty. Not bad. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 4, 2009 Murky apricot pour with a small white head. Aroma holds toasty malt, biscuit, yeast, banana, orange, and a bit of clove in the spice character. Flavor is wicked bready, lots of dough, orange, and tons of spice. Some light bitterness from the hops is certainly there, but the yeast and malt sweetness is dominant. Palate is quite nice for the style, with a really nice dry finish that takes over for the fruity esters. Really solid hefe- impressive beer overall. savnac (453), Palmer, Alaska, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 3, 2009 16.9 oz bottle. Cloudy gold/yellow with a small white head and lots of suspended yeast. Typical banana clove yeast aroma but a bit more clove and spice than banana, also some spicy hop scents. Sweet bready malt flavor with some sourness from the yeast and a light hop bitterness. Medium body with active carbonation and a soft frothy mouth feel. This is a good German Hef, I don’t really care that it’s organic though. jeremytoni (1122), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA
