| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Jan 27, 2007 Haven’t had much kristall’s and I’m not too much of a weize fan either. This one looks like a lager/pils, but packs quite a bit of wheatbeer taste. Not too yeasty nor bananalike, yet they both definately are there. FrankJohansen (3399), Århus-Randers Crew, Denmark
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Dec 23, 2006 Bottle. Clear golden colour with a huge mostly lasting white head. The germans really know how to make presentable beer. The Aroma was nice of wheat and yeast, but the flavour was a bit weak compared to eg. weihenstephaner kristall. Below Schneider standard. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 13, 2006 500ml bottle serving it chilled in weizen glass. Faint grassiness on the nose, bit of banana bread-like yeast and a metallic note. Looks a treat with a sparkling golden body and big pillowy white head and lace. Filling in the mouth. Light fruit flavours on the palate, some citrus, banana, candyish notes; also a bit of bread and spice. Dry sort of finish, a tiny bit abrupt. Quite enjoyable regardless. | 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Oct 12, 2006 Not the best of Kristall’s, not denying it filled a spot in between here and the next beer. I’m starting to wonder about the beers of this Brauerei, not really living up to the earnt hype of years before, has brewing changed recently!?!
Poured into it’s own tall weiss glass. Bright, dull, pale gold with a huge flurry of carbonation releasing out to an immense, rocky white crown (grew an inch out the glass) that held in place needing a good chomp to bite it off. Lace work was meticulous as it ebbed down the glass. Aroma was almost distant with faint bubblegum and summer grains being the only things I could detect. Nothing else. Zingy lemons in the mouth as it whips furiously across the palate. There is a nice touch of summer grains here, wheaty but subtle. Very light bodied, like mineral water, and a little too fizzy even of style. Touch of white bread mid-palate, light sour malt shows late before a clean, crisp finish with just a little wheat malt lingering briefly. This didn’t offer much, weissbier relies on a balance of spicy phenolics and sweet/sour fruit esters. Where were they..., on a break, maybe a holiday!?!. This was wonderfully refreshing (like spritzig wasser), subtle, in fact almost lifeless, but easy to drink none-the-less. But it just wasn’t a Weizenbier. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 13, 2006 50 cl bottle. No yeast at the bottom. Golden clear colour with a huge white head. Light aroma of yeast an bread. Refreshing flavour of wheat combined with fruitness and yeast. Very light and easy to drink. voota (765), Melbourne, Australia
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Apr 30, 2006 Pours clear with a white head and excelent lacing. Aroma showed some slight banana, a little stale. The body seems to be much the same, similar to an unfilterd wheatbeer but less, and a little sour and grainy. So much character has been taken out that it heads in the direction of pale lagers. The finish is bland, like the aroma, body, and for that matter.. style.
