For me, this beer might suffer most from comparisons within the Schneider und Sohn family of beers than from comparisons to its actual style competition. Aventinus is a wonderful beer that makes the brewery really shine. This beer has a similar but toned down spicy wheat flavor. It is still far better than the vast majority of wheat beers. Schneider has an extremely special wheat flavor, and Aventinus expresses this flavor best. This beer mutes the flavor somewhat for a drier, less fruity experience. The flavor is still very good, full of spice and fruit, banana, esters. It is a very drinkable beer, even amongst other hefeweizens. The feel is a touch watery but otherwise very nice. The appearance is great. A column of dusky amber liquid glows beneath a frothy head. Little lacing remains as the head fades away, but the color makes up for it.

Cloudy haze with white head. Head did not last. Crisp in the glass. Aroma of bananas and some spice, sourness and vanilla. Flavor had a sour start - sour fruit. Smoothed into a sweetness. Highly carbonated so danced on the tongue with a clean finish. TheJollyOne (204), Kofu, Japan

Tasted of banana and clove with a slight bitterness. Watery palate, clean and quick to finish. Refreshing, but I like my weisse a bit sweeter. tarheels86 (813), Washington DC, USA

Aroma of bananas, wheat, and orange peel. Taste is a little like apple cider with some sweet bread, corn, and metallic notes in the finish. Creamy mouthfeel. A disappointment. floydian1 (293), FNQ, Australia

Vigorous nose of spicy yeasts caramel wheat and lemon rind. Thick creamy palate with flavours of bananas cloves oranges and lemons. Maybe a hint of liquorice to finish. Very well integrated. It is considered a classic of the genre for very good reason IMHO. jrob21 (1279), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
