Smell is slightly malty and yeasty. Flavor is very malty and wheaty with a nice creamy mouthfeel. Very light bitterness but it works nicely letting light grain flavor through. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 26, 2008 50cl bottle from Willow Bend Liquors (Tampa, FL). Pours a hazy dark amber color with a two finger off-white head that settles slowly and still laces the glass. Aroma is much like most hefeweizens with notes of grain, hay, grass, bread, yeast, banana, clove, and other spices. Flavor is spicy with notes of malt, yeast, bread, some ripe fruit, and maybe hints of banana and clove. Generally light body with a crisp finish. Nice hefe. JohnQPublic (387), Brooklyn, New York, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 21, 2008 Draught into Weizen glass. Pours a cloudy golden brown with a big, fluffy, long lasting white head. Nose is banana and cloves, crisp wheat. Taste matches nose - banana and clove underpin the crisp, light wheat body of the beer, with a slightly dry, clean finish with a hint of hop bitterness that doesn’t linger on the palate at all. Fruity banana is less prominent than, say, Weihenstephaner. Emminently drinkable, delicious and classic. jhagmar (114), Gothenburg, Sweden
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 21, 2008 Bottle, thanks ekstedt. Greyish brown with white head. Light, pleasant aroma with lots of hops. Light, dry, pleasant taste. Soft mouthfeel. lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 20, 2008 Pours a cloudy rich brown color with a nice light beige head atop. Smell is rich wheatiness, banana, and light spicing. Richer and darker smelling than most hefeweizens. Taste is rich semi-dark malted wheat with some fruity banana flavor. Light yeast spice flavor, and I can see the nutmeg apple descriptions from the bottle in the beer as well. Medium bodied and soft carbonation. Pretty good hefeweizen and darker in flavor than most.
