Commercial Description:
With its amber-mahogany coloring and streaked with fine top-fermented yeast, this beer has a fine, persistent head that adheres well to the glass. It is pleasantly fruity with a typical top-fermented smell, an aroma of clove and nutmeg apple tantalizes the nose. On the tongue it is fresh, clean, full-bodied, harmonious and well-balanced. It finishes with a light, delicate taste of bitters leaving behind a sour impression.

Draught into Weizen glass. Pours a cloudy golden brown with a big, fluffy, long lasting white head. Nose is banana and cloves, crisp wheat. Taste matches nose - banana and clove underpin the crisp, light wheat body of the beer, with a slightly dry, clean finish with a hint of hop bitterness that doesn’t linger on the palate at all. Fruity banana is less prominent than, say, Weihenstephaner. Emminently drinkable, delicious and classic.

Bottle, thanks ekstedt. Greyish brown with white head. Light, pleasant aroma with lots of hops. Light, dry, pleasant taste. Soft mouthfeel.

Pours a cloudy rich brown color with a nice light beige head atop. Smell is rich wheatiness, banana, and light spicing. Richer and darker smelling than most hefeweizens. Taste is rich semi-dark malted wheat with some fruity banana flavor. Light yeast spice flavor, and I can see the nutmeg apple descriptions from the bottle in the beer as well. Medium bodied and soft carbonation. Pretty good hefeweizen and darker in flavor than most.

pours a hazy brown with a solid frothy head. aroma of plum, raisin, yeast, and some malt. Flavor is quite nice, with similarities to the aroma and definite darker notes than typical of the style. Palate is ok, a solid beer.

very dark color for a hefeweizen. lots of interesting flavor, including some spice - maybe clove and some grapefruit finishing with some banana essence. palate is quite refreshing, it says champagne like on the bottle and while it’s weak to copy the bottle, i have to agree. i’m not sure how it stacks up against its style, but i liked it pretty well.

Bottle. Aroma has a bit of plum and maybe a little alcohol toward the end. Flavor is what you would expect in a very good German wheat like Hacker-Pschorr or Franziskaner, but I find the malts here a bit darker and that some substantial effervescence plays a significant role in framing the malt. Just an alright hefe.

Pint on tap. Hazy amber with a mellow smooth flavor and a spicy nose. Someone else mentioned banana and grapefruit notes... we agree. Went very well with the bratwurst plate we were having.
