Pours a cloudy golden brown with a big, fluffy, long lasting white head. Nose is banana and cloves, crisp wheat. Taste matches nose - banana and clove underpin the crisp, light wheat body of the beer, with a slightly dry, clean finish with a hint of hop bitterness that doesn’t linger on the palate at all. Fruity banana is less prominent than, say, Weihenstephaner. Emminently drinkable, delicious and classic. jhagmar (114), Gothenburg, Sweden

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 20, 2008 Pours a cloudy rich brown color with a nice light beige head atop. Smell is rich wheatiness, banana, and light spicing. Richer and darker smelling than most hefeweizens. Taste is rich semi-dark malted wheat with some fruity banana flavor. Light yeast spice flavor, and I can see the nutmeg apple descriptions from the bottle in the beer as well. Medium bodied and soft carbonation. Pretty good hefeweizen and darker in flavor than most. craftycarl21 (601), South Hero, Vermont, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 19, 2008 pours a hazy brown with a solid frothy head. aroma of plum, raisin, yeast, and some malt. Flavor is quite nice, with similarities to the aroma and definite darker notes than typical of the style. Palate is ok, a solid beer. bw1982 (80), , Florida, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 8, 2008 Bottle. Aroma has a bit of plum and maybe a little alcohol toward the end. Flavor is what you would expect in a very good German wheat like Hacker-Pschorr or Franziskaner, but I find the malts here a bit darker and that some substantial effervescence plays a significant role in framing the malt. Just an alright hefe.
