Commercial Description:
With its amber-mahogany coloring and streaked with fine top-fermented yeast, this beer has a fine, persistent head that adheres well to the glass. It is pleasantly fruity with a typical top-fermented smell, an aroma of clove and nutmeg apple tantalizes the nose. On the tongue it is fresh, clean, full-bodied, harmonious and well-balanced. It finishes with a light, delicate taste of bitters leaving behind a sour impression.

Murky brownish amber with a thin off-white head. Aroma of yeast, sweet malt, clove and nutmeg. Taste of more of the same with some citrus on the back end. Decent hefe – smooth and possess a lively caronation feel.

500 ml bottle from LCBO, served cold in a Weizen glass. JN17/08.

App.: Cloudy brown-amber with a decent off-white head. Aroma: Spicey – clove and cinnamon, yeasty with less of the typical banana esters, fruity – raisins, apricots and cherries. Palate: Medium body, moderate effervescence with some sharp bubbles, slightly astringent. Flav.: Slightly nutty, lots of cloves and cinnamon, banana esters, some raisins and other fruits; fairly dry with a light clove finish.

Seems to me I used to enjoy this more...maybe it’s a older bottle? Maybe my tastes have changed? Better drink more to find out!

500ML Bottle: Muddy red in color, good one finger head. Smells like nutmeg. Flavor is a combonation of mild amount of bitterness and sourness. Nutmeg, fruity and spices alll thrown in. Lots of carbonation. Good brew, but I wouldnt but it again.

Hefeweizen tasting at Three Cellars Milwaukee. A nice basic Hefeweizen. I found nothing out of this world here.

Pours a light orange/yellow with a foamy head. The head was gone very quickly. It was a nice smooth beer but - and this is my fault - after having a triple the body just didn’t hold up. I need to go back and rereview this. It was fruity and smooth but it felt a little watery and not fully developed.

Pours dark hazy amber with a light tan head. It is significantly darker than most hefes. The aroma has lots of spicy spritziness, rich banana, clove and nutmeg. It is very full rich and enticing. Medium body with lots of carbonation. The taste has the aroma traits, but is on the watery side and has the spices WAY out front. The finish is peppery and lightly citric. The aroma is better than the taste.

500ml bottle served in shaker glass at BB Rover’s on 6-19-08: Poured a smoke filled room hazy copper tan color, nice fluffy off white head one finger thick stayed around long enough to have it introduce itself to friends and the old lady and laced slowly away after each sip, zesty aroma of lemon, clove, bananas, wheat, yeast, and magical German goodness. Hits the mouth with a medium body, all aromas convert to taste beyond what is to be expected, middle has a slight sweet tang, finish is smooth that leaves you wanting to have some more. Excellent example of the style- immediate notice send to my frig for incoming brew!

In my opinion, this is a beautiful hefe-weizen, and the way all hefe-weizens should be. It pours a cloudy orange colour with a large fluffy, sticky white head with excellent retention. Very sweet yet not overpowering aromas of tropical fruit. Bannanas, papaya and orange. creamy on the palate, super subtle hop flavor with a round mouthfeel. Wicked tastey, can’t wait to get this again. :)
