Commercial Description:
With its amber-mahogany coloring and streaked with fine top-fermented yeast, this beer has a fine, persistent head that adheres well to the glass. It is pleasantly fruity with a typical top-fermented smell, an aroma of clove and nutmeg apple tantalizes the nose. On the tongue it is fresh, clean, full-bodied, harmonious and well-balanced. It finishes with a light, delicate taste of bitters leaving behind a sour impression.

This is automatically my go to for this style. I don’t think it gets much better than this. A solid malt backbone, with a richer texture on the palate than most, with a lot of banana and clove notes, very clean and refreshing.

Pours a darker color than expected; a hazy amber color. Nice big fluffy white head. Aroma is of cloves, yeast, some spice and banana. This beer is very refreshing, clean and fresh with some yeast and spices to go along with a citrus banana flavor. The flavors are very soft, gentle and buttery. Definitely a good choice on a hot day. Re-rate 4/25/09. Pours a copper color with a huge fluffy head that does settle down a bit. Fresh aroma consisting of bananas, cloves, flowers. Flavor adds a touch of spice. This is soft, creamy, and extremely well-rounded. Tasty beer. Ratings get bumped. I’ll probably be drinking this one on a regular basis this summer.

#300: Bottle 50 cl. Pours a cloudy pale yellow with a medium white head that fades away pretty fast. The aroma is dominated by banana, pear and yeast. The taste starts out a bit sour and then gets a banana-like sweetness but still those sour notes in the back. A nice hefeweizen, but not as good as Weihenstephaner

Pours hazy dark orange. Sweet nose of banas, grass, cirtus and spice. Flavor is crisp and clean, but not as rounded as I like my hefeweizen. Some pilsener-like spice on the finish. Hardly any banana in the taste. This bottle may not be entirely fresh. I’ve had it before with a more pronounced wheat flavor. Certainly not a bad beer by any means, but a little disappointing from the brewer of my favorite beer.

Poured from a 500 ml bottle; hazy, dark golden appearance of dull bronze. Spritzy pear, mint, and doughy banana nose. Vanilla wafting in the middle. Flavor is soft, crispy, and highly refreshing; bits of golden fruits, light spice, minerals and pine on plenty of hearty yeasts. Clean, tart, quenching palate; finishing fairly dry with some residual airy sweetness. Completely as it should be.

[bottle] Pours fairly dark and hazy with a large tan head. Aroma of banana and cloves. Slightly tart, but sweet mouthfeel. Good stuff.
