| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 6, 2007 500 ml bottle. Cloudy dark amber colour. Surprisingly dark. Very tall white coarse and fluffy head that falls down rather quickly. Phenolic aroma with a strong clove background. Quite a bit of banana there as well. Rounded malt sweetness. Strong wheat flavours. Mellow texture with a light oilyness that is being cut through by the high carbonation level. Lots of character. Perhaps a little too much on the sweetside for my taste, but otherwise an excellent weissbier. I tasted honey and caramel. This German Wheat Ale is sweeter than most. A nice head which didn’t last too long. I got this beer in a 500ml bottle, and paid $2.99, which I thought was expensive. Aroma lots of clove and some banana. Flavor clove, banana, some grainy wheat. A bit of bubblegum. Bit overcarbonated for my tastes. Not bad. Faint tartness as well.
