Nice and cloudy, big frothy white head that settles down to a thin line. A lot more carbonated than, say, a Paulaner. Fizzy. Nice. Not so sweet and banana (in my estimation) more malty than fruity. A rich, tasty beer. I prefer the more banana and sweet smelling hefe’s like a Fransizkaner, but this one is nice, and I’ll buy (and drink) more. Gpnterojd (164), Orangeville, Ontario, Canada

Aroma is strongly of bananas with a little yeast and nutmeg. Flavour is also strong on bananas and yeast. Well balanced spices and clove round out the flavour. Muddy-colored, opaque from ample yeast sediments. Fruity and spicy aroma, imparted by the creamy head. Initial taste is heavy on the citrus: with orange, lemon and also fennel detectable. Nice beer: don’t serve it too cold!
Draft at Weissbrauhaus, munich. Dark hazy orange-brown with white head. Is really good. Smooth carbonation. The tap version of this is great! The banana is more apparent than in the helles weizen. The body is big with a great palate. World class gold standard. 4-6-5-8-16 joohefner (380), Isla Vista, California, USA
