Commercial Description:
With its amber-mahogany coloring and streaked with fine top-fermented yeast, this beer has a fine, persistent head that adheres well to the glass. It is pleasantly fruity with a typical top-fermented smell, an aroma of clove and nutmeg apple tantalizes the nose. On the tongue it is fresh, clean, full-bodied, harmonious and well-balanced. It finishes with a light, delicate taste of bitters leaving behind a sour impression.

Has a very hazy orange-brown body. The head is creamy white. Aroma is citrus and pineapple. Flavor brings fruits, banana, sweet malt and the mouthfeel is big.

Fleeting head. Lots of clove, orange, banana aromas. More citrus on the taste with a touch of lemon and a verbena vegetal flavor. Finish is a little minerally.

I always considered this to be darkish hefeweizen but I not a dunkel. I suppose it makes sense since it is pretty dark. Anyway it’s a golden orangey darkness. It pours with a huge head and ooks beautiful served in a weizen. It also tastes beautiful. The banana esters aren’t as prominent as some weizens but still exists. It has lots of spiciness and it is difficult to imagine how they got so much flavour diversity using so few ingredients. I’d consider it to be something of a classic of its style.

Bottle, kmweaver-exclusive non-RBSG pity-party tasting 2007. Pours a cloudy, dark brown color with yellowish edges; off-white head with great retention and lacing. Generous aroma, showing wheat and bananas and belgian sugars. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: chewy display of complex esters and brown sugar, with lively citrus and wheaty notes; beautifully integrated, satisfying wheat beer. Medium, estery and brown sugar finish, with a hint of clove. Wonderful stuff.

Definitely one of the benchmark Hefeweissens available. Spicy and refreshing. None of that irritating banana flavour found in most hefes.

This is the best hefeweisse I’ve had in recent memory, and possibly ever. This beer offers a significant amount of clove and spice, but is not overpouring and is extremely drinkable. Appearance is darker than I would’ve expected, and the head is billowy and plentiful (reminiscent of a Belgian strong ale). Aroma is clovey with some other spices. Flavor is extremely smooth and of more clove, balanced well with wheat and malt. Mouthfeel, due to secondary fermentation, is extremely smooth. I foundt his beer to be extremely drinkable, and went well with my meal at Cafe Brucke. I would like to add that this bottle was extremely fresh, as is always the case with Cafe Brucke’s selection of imports. The bottle I had looked like it just came off the bottling line.
