Commercial Description:
With its amber-mahogany coloring and streaked with fine top-fermented yeast, this beer has a fine, persistent head that adheres well to the glass. It is pleasantly fruity with a typical top-fermented smell, an aroma of clove and nutmeg apple tantalizes the nose. On the tongue it is fresh, clean, full-bodied, harmonious and well-balanced. It finishes with a light, delicate taste of bitters leaving behind a sour impression.

This is the best hefeweisse I’ve had in recent memory, and possibly ever. This beer offers a significant amount of clove and spice, but is not overpouring and is extremely drinkable. Appearance is darker than I would’ve expected, and the head is billowy and plentiful (reminiscent of a Belgian strong ale). Aroma is clovey with some other spices. Flavor is extremely smooth and of more clove, balanced well with wheat and malt. Mouthfeel, due to secondary fermentation, is extremely smooth. I foundt his beer to be extremely drinkable, and went well with my meal at Cafe Brucke. I would like to add that this bottle was extremely fresh, as is always the case with Cafe Brucke’s selection of imports. The bottle I had looked like it just came off the bottling line.

Bottle in weizen glass. Pours cludy medium brown with lasting light tan hed and some lacing. Faint aroma of banana, tartness, bready yeast. Very light flavor of tangy wheat and light roasted malt. Excellent mouthfeel of medium body and medium carbonation. Very refreshing but somewhat restrained in flavor. A quality beer but not a favorite.

Head is a down pillow with aroma of clove and nutmeg, banana, pear and perhaps faint apple or peach. Mild mineral aspect. Finish is sour but not in an annoying way. Fairly light body. Lots of carbonation.

Muddy amber with off white head. BB 06/07. Yeast, banana, wheat, caramel - malt. Malty bready taste with some wheat & banana around it. Fresh mouthfeel - little watery though. Spicy - not coriander, but perhaps clove or cinnamon. Highly enjoyable (and finally within my reach)! Very good!

Happy birthday to me. crystal clear amber with a lasting white head. aroma smoked banana caramel and clove. sweet banana bubble gum bitter caramel with some spiced bread notes all backed up with an underlying smoke flavor. spicy (clove) smoked meaty caramel finish. medium body. lively carbonation. very interesting wheat. so smokey. if given blind i would say that it would certainly have some smoked malt.....does it?

Banana bread aroma. Rich yeasty flavor, but the palate is a bit thin. Nice, though.

Pours a dark, cloudy, amber-brown with a few yeast floaties and a huge, rocky, white head. I’ve never seen a beer this dark with a white head before. The aroma is classic dunkelweizen: yeasty banana and cloves, wheat and dark malts with light citrus and just a hint of bubblegum in the background. The mouthfeel is light, slick and soft; very clean and refreshing. The flavor follows the nose with a fresh, sweet, yeasty front followed by a wheaty and slightly sour finish. This is a great example of the style and one not to be missed by wheat fans.

Cloudy dark orange, large white bubbles. Heavy sweet wheat aroma--tons of bananas and cloves, some citrus. Flavor is ripe bananas and delicious spiced fruity-ness, with some caramel and yeastyness. Still has a clean finish. Excellent.
