Ungstrup (11136), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jul 2, 2003 The aroma is very lightly sweet and wheaty with notes of sourness. The color is an unclear mixture of brown and yellow and it has a fine head. The flavor is a very refreshing wheat flavor, very soft, and very complex for a wheat beer. One of my favorite wheat beers. omhper (10456), Stockholm, Sweden Apr 2, 2003 Bottled. Orange-brown and very cludy with brief head. Estery banana aroma. Fruity, but with clean, hard mouthfeel. Smooth finish with balanced esters and some black currant. Papsoe (9999), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 26, 2005 (Bottle 50 cl) Cloudy, dark golden - must be one of the darkest German Hefes. Fresh and lightly acidic fruitiness with a - for a Hefe - surprisingly bitter finish. 160300 Oakes (6853), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Mar 7, 2004 Light brown...the darkest non-dunkel weissbier around. Because it's so dark you don't notice that it's not all that cloudy either. Always a big frothy head. Aroma of apple, banana, wheat, malts (including some light toffee). Very full body for the style...it's heavy. Sweet-tart components are complemented by a delicate spiciness and aforementioned apple and banana. Tartness dominates a rather quick, wheaty finish. Whether it is the classic hefeweizen is debatable, but it's certainly one of the most distinctive. yespr (6364), Copenhagen O, Denmark Feb 17, 2008 From tap at Ølbaren. Pours murky brown, white and dense head. Wheat, sweet and banana fruity - almost esterish aroma. Prickling mouthfeel.Fresh fruity wheat flavour, mild sweetness and light acidic touch. Light dry wheat and banana fruity finish.
