Commercial Description:
With its light-honey coloring and streaked with fine top-fermented yeast, this beer has a fine-pored, stable head. It has a fresh, typically top-fermented clove-like aroma. On the tongue it is fresh, clean, harmonious and smoothly rounded. It finishes with a light, delicate taste of bitters leaving behind a spritzig-sour impression.

Bottle: Hazy, pale golden coloured, mid-sized fluffy stable off-white head; mainly bananas in the solid fruity nose, underpinned by clovey esters and shy citrus-fruit; moderate sweetish-sourish flavour, light to medium-bodied; light sourish finish with a mild tart citrus-fruitiness in the aftertaste. A refreshing Weizen, that lacks the complexity of the original...............

cask @ the Southwark Tavern. Golden and opaque with a thin white foam head. Yeasty orange banana and vanilla aroma with pineapple and juicy fruit hints. Watery taste of orange, banana and yeast. Notes of hops and wheat in the finish. Fizzy but thin. Average.

Sadly immemorable Hefe weizen this one turned out to be. Tasted a few weeks ago alongside the ’Original’, and though I’d give it credit where credit is due - it was better than the original - it just didn’t start no riot in my mouth or ol-factories.
Appearance - faultless - a tempest of fine, streaming-lines of overly excited bubbles pushed up a loose, pillowy white crown that rose a good inch from the glass. It needed to be bitten off or politely blown off onto another person’s shoe. The body, a hazy sandy gold. Very subtle bubble gum and more prominent, gooey banana on the nose, with some additional doughy yeast and fresh baked white bread. Doughy, yet fresh and zingy in the mouth. Flavour of bread crusts settles in , as some raw wheat malt. Sides have some generous zingy lemon flavours and a curling of sour malt before a reasonably dry, clove edged, gritty malt swallow. Body is light and it crosses the tongue with such ease but it just fails to arouse. Very sessionable, but characterless alone. A few Aventinus to savour and then move on to this for the spangled effect. Average (50cL, 14/07/06, The Beer Store, Morley)

Sweet aroma, sort of clove like with a wonderfull smooth body and citrus undertones. It left me wanting more - so I had another - and another...

(bottle) Cloudy pale amber colour with a mid-sized diminishing frothy white head. Sour and sweet wheaty aroma with shy fruity notes of banana and pear, alcohol and shy hints of cloves. Light sweet wheat-malty taste, banana, medium to light bodied, well carbonated spritzy mouthfeel; slightly bitter and tart finish with light clovy notes. Compared to the original Schneider, this one is rather disappointing.

Nice citrus and fruit aromas. Cloudy golden brown color in the body. Good white head with a very high level of carbonation and citrus flavors. Heavy hops with a sharp ending.
