Very bland flavor - light malt and banana flavor. Now I’ve tried all three types of Schöfferhoffer Weizens I can say that while they are not horrible, they are the weakest examples of Weizens that I’ve came across in Germany - you’re pretty much better off choosing any other German Weizen. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 16, 2004 Spicy, dark fruit, with some bananas and mild cloves. Dark copper coloured with decent off-white head that recedes to cover. Wheat, dark malt, earthy tones, bananas, cloves. Somewhat roasty in the finish. Engaging in the mouth - prickles the sides of the tongue. Strong carbonation and medium-light body that is very refreshing. Bottle enjoyed with MartinT and Rastacouere. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 15, 2004 Dirty medium brown color. Sticky off-white cover. Intense aroma comes and gets you though I don’t enjoy it so much. Creamed rotten banana purée, cloves and sweet chocolate syrup blend. Earthy palate with distinct roastiness providing a long aftertaste. Interesting toasted grain feel, but globally unattracting. Lively carbonation, thin-medium bodied. jde123 (715), Washington, Washington DC, USA

Dark and cloudy pour with excellent head retention. Lots of yeast in this beer and it smells as such. Tart flavor, but with a nice smoothing malt balance. My favorite of the lineup. dortmunder (961), Herdecke, Germany

Taste is slightly malty and sweet. Taste consists of cloves, banana and a hint of caramel. A bit watery in the finish, though. Overall a bit lightbodied for my taste, otherwise a decent dunkelweizen.
