Bottle brown, 500 ml
Appearance: Pours hazu - cloudy, medium, rather visually thin body, body colour is brownish red, plum like and rminding a bit coagulated blood, seems visually a bit wattery, colour denoting the usage of classic Munich malt. Body carbonation is average. head initiallyis not as big as in Heffe - Weizen style, always smaller in this style due to less addition of yeast and less percentage portion of wheat malt, quickly decreasing to a minimal froth, frothy in texture, no lacing.
Aroma: First of all Munich malt, gentle grassy and a bit flowery, hoppy aroma, than some hints of yeasts, some hint of toastyness and creamy coffee, banana and bread, vanilla, alcohol is well hidden, whipped cream, butter, very gentle, mellow and interesting aroma as for a Dunkelweizen.
Flavour: Front is bitter, light hoppy bitterness coming throught your palate and than later on, in the aftertaste, flowery and grassy nose, Munich malts, some wheat malts, barley malts on palate and very nice dominationg, well blended mixture of toasted, slightly burned grainy flavour with toastyness and flowery - grassy aromatic nose and bitterness on palate in the aftertaste. Banana is one noticable fruit, vanilla and some accidity from slight and nicely build in effervescence. Some rusty impression. The besd Dunkelweizen so far.
Palate: Body is light to medium, texture is wattery, a bit syrupy (but not sweet), carbonation on palate is soft, finish feel is grainy, a bit accidic, yeasty, toasty, rather short.

A bit more nutty than the Helles hefe, but with similar fruity aroma. Some banana, some lemon, a bit spicy. Illini08 (528), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA

Brown pour with a good sized head, typical of a hefe poured into a weized glass. Transparent light brown around the edges. Strong banana and other fruity notes in both aroma and flavor. Lightly nutty and spicy as well. Pretty complex for the style and really enjoyable. ekstedt (2446), Göteborg, Sweden
