The flavour is nice, normally I prefer the light wheat versions best, because they have more power and body. But this is nice with nice notes of wheat, fruit, banana and sweetness of course. But as in the case with the light version of this beer, more power and body would be nice. rlgk (3378), Vårgårda, Sweden

Pours a cloudy dark walnut brown, with a frothy two finger head that settles slowly to a thick cap. Even with so much foam, the lacing is almost nonexistent.
Smell; very strong clove aroma in this one, with hints of banana, and a little bubblegum. A sweet malty backbone round outs out the aroma a little.
Taste; as with the aroma, this has a very strong clove flavor with some grassy notes as well. The banana is there, it’s just a little overwhelmed by the cloves, but the caramel malts do come out a bit as this gets a little warmer.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a fairly soft carbonation, but this isn’t the easiest for me to drink with such an overwhelming presence of cloves. Marsiblursi (1659), Göteborg, Sweden

Aroma of yeast, banana, sweet chocolate, toasted wheat, and vanilla. Very refreshing and easy to drink (light to medium body). Very nice carbonation for a wheat beer. Nice fruity roasted aftertaste. Another good dunkel hefeweizen. ALLOVATE (1126), Perth, Australia
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 22, 2007 Aus der flasche @ O’Reilly’s Irish pub (the mecca for Aussie’s lost!!) in business-suit Frankfurt-am-Main, Germany (July ’06). I, my wife, yes we were lost, in this bar just beside the seedy district - across a mammoth intersection that must confuse the locals - we had to stop to get our bearings. Beer is expensive in central ’Krankfurt’, this was the poison for me as we entered a world of broke, end of tethers, end of World Cup Aussies just looking to get home, but still so full of that ol’ Digger view at life. I loved this beer, it is macro without doubt (the Oetker group is the hidden InBev!), but it is atleast loyal to the roots of the dark wheat beers. Into its own tall weissbier glass. It produces a muddy chestnut with an exorbitant amount of fine carbonation. Big, creamy but loose, cauliflower pad atop, just off-white in colour and strong to retain for the length. Could have put my initials in it! Sweet, spicy and biscuity, big malty and esteric, banana-split nose. Yum. Aroma continues its journey into the mouth. Sweet, chocolate brownie front, biscuity as it moves but balanced by some dusty wheat, cloves, a distant hint of cola Hubba-Bubba™ and vanillin. Back end is just on spicy though the carbonation makes it peak crisply before falling off quite long. This is generally a little too charged so a few swirls of the glass and she is sweet! It’s all dessert in the aftertaste, nothing so closer to a banana-split with ice-cream and hot chocolate sauce, good as. It is remarkably sessionable stuff, tasty, balanced and not overdone. Just a good wheat beer. (50cL)
