Bottle. Sweet grapefruit juice aroma. Orange-tan color with small head. Sweet grapefruit juice flavor (lighter than the aroma would indicate) with just a hint of the weizen. Gives you what it says.

Bottled sample. Pale orange in colour wtih a lot of haze and fairly strong carbonation. Aromas are of artificial grapefruit (think Fresca, or Frizante soft drinks), and a bit of lemon and wheat malt. The flavors start off very pink grapefruit forward and drying, but follow up with an almost cloying and thick wheat note. There’s some vanilla sweentess on the finish too. The mouthfeel is just as disjoint, with the sharp citric acidity giving way to the heavy sweet finish. Overall, the first few sips weren’t too bad, but I got sick of it before I was half finished. Very strange.

[2050-20090327] 330mL bottle. Acidic grapefruit juice aroma with lots of lemon pip and a mild deodorant shampoo fragrance. Hazy, light orange body with a quick foamy white head. Juicy grapefruit continues in the flavour. Light body. Not a fan of grapefruit but the generic citrus is nice.

Bottled. An unclear orange-golden beer with a huge, but fast collapsing off-white head. The aroma is sweet with strong nice notes of pink grapefruit and light notes of wheat. The flavor is sweet with notes of pink grapefruit, and light notes of wheat, leading to a dry wheaty finish. The body is thin.

Cloudy orange with an orange-tinted foamy head showing medium retention. True grapefruit juice aroma and flavour, nothing candyish or fake here. But you really must be a fan of grapefruit on some level to enjoy this one. The beer comes through in the finish, but it’s grapefruit all the way. My wife and I were both surprised at how much we enjoyed it.

The aroma is sweet and has plenty of grapefruit with a smaller amount of wheat beer. The appearance is cloudy pink orange with a thin head that fades fast. The flavor is like the aroma sweet and dominated by grapefruit with a smaller malty finish. The palate is thin but smooth. Overall this one is better than I expected. It has bitter and sour tastes but they are balanced by sweet. Underrated, but then again maybe I am a sucker for citrus fruit.

bottle, pours hazy orange with pink hues. Grapefruit aroma with light wheat showing it’s face. More grapefruit than weizen in nature with lots of sweet and sour in the finish.
