Commercial Description:
Schöfferhofer German Wheat Beer Hefeweizen is brewed in Bavarian tradition using wheat malt. The live yeast gives bottle "conditioning" guaranteeing a refreshing fruity flavor. The yeast sediment also leads to the "cloudy" nature of the beer. Care needs to be taken when pouring. Tilt glass and poor slowly. Before pouring last quarter, roll bottle gently back and forward until sediment is dissolved.

Hazy yellow; white, foamy head becomes a medium ring; light lacing. Aroma and flavor banana, cloves, yeast. Flavor just barely tangy with very light bitterness in the finish and somehow I think a slight twinge from the alcohol. Medium-light body, which seems appropriate. I don’t love this style but I would drink this regularly.

I always think of this beer as the perfect introduction for someone who is about to look past he mass produced rubish on the market. Pours a beautiful orage colour with a very citric aroma. Tangy finish which tickles the taste buds. This beer comes with a guarantee to convert your friends to look at Beer outside of the local "run of the mill" brew they usually drink.

Lovely full head. Easily drunk. I even didn’t mind it as it heated up to room temperature. The flavours really came out. Big on spice and citrus fruit.£1.29/5OOML at Aldi.

(bottle) Cloudy, orange colour with a big and lacey foamy white head. Yeasty, sweet wheat-malty nose with sourish citrus-fruity accents, lighter notes of banana and spicy phenols (band aid, cloves) in the background. Light-sweet and slightly bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a lively carbonation. Yeasty and wheaty taste with a moderate fruitiness; dry and sweet-bitter, wheat-malty finish with rather unharmonic spicy, phenolic notes. Not a great one; even a bit disappointing by German standards (28.03.08).

Draught at Morocan restaurant in Karlsruhe. Typical looking hefe, cloudy straw/orange color, avg head. Aroma of banana, yeast, wheat, gum, spice. Similar flavor profile. Refreshing and drinkable. This was a good hefeweizen, but not the best. I had it fresh. Good memories, decent beer.
