Jun 27, 2007 Beer 99 Summer 2006 trip in Europe. Drank on 7/20/06 someplace in Berlin. I recall this was a decent hefeweizen not very special.

Jun 26, 2007 Updated: Jun 27, 2007Half-liter bottle pours a hazy, dull tangerine color, with a tall and frothy head whose lace sticks to the glass. Very fruity aroma of oranges, bananas and--oddly--a note of alcohol. Not sweet at all, which I like. Bananas are stronger in the flavor, with citrus notes in the background. Doesn’t taste all that "yeasty" to me. But there’s a mild and welcome bitterness toward the back end. Finishes somewhat dry, always a nice touch in a beer that refreshes, because now I want to take another sip. Mouthfeel is a problem, seems a bit thin to me. Less flavor and substance than the better hefeweizens, but it has its strengths.
