Commercial Description:
Schöfferhofer German Wheat Beer Hefeweizen is brewed in Bavarian tradition using wheat malt. The live yeast gives bottle "conditioning" guaranteeing a refreshing fruity flavor. The yeast sediment also leads to the "cloudy" nature of the beer. Care needs to be taken when pouring. Tilt glass and poor slowly. Before pouring last quarter, roll bottle gently back and forward until sediment is dissolved.

Definitely I needed some like this, very spicy and very refreshing. It is a shame they don’t imprt more like this.

Bottle from Saarlander and shared with Duane. Thanks Aaron. Hazy yellow pour with a good-sized white head. Banana, bubblegum, yeast and lots of clovey spiciness in the nose. Flavor is much the same. Spicier and maltier than an average hefe, this one stands out. Very well done.

Nice fruity beer with lots of bananas in aroma and flavour. Slightly one-dimensional, however, and not one of my favourite German Hefeweizen.

A clowdy yellow colour, with a sour wheat nose and a crisp sharp wheat fruityness.

50cL bottle. Pours a cloudy orange color with a big head that lasts fairly well. This is a good summer beer with a dry finish. Fairly normal German offering, nothing special really.

Orange, slighty hazy with a great head. Some banana, uncomplicatedly malty, a little dry on the finish. A pretty standard hefe really.

A simply perfect looking summer beer. Add a thin slice of lemon and tip it back: murky gold color with a lot going on in the glass. The taste is a little thin, but wickedly refreshing. The aftertaste is nice and clean, as was expected with this style of beer. An truly wonderful wheat beer, very German. Cheers.
