Commercial Description:
Schöfferhofer German Wheat Beer Hefeweizen is brewed in Bavarian tradition using wheat malt. The live yeast gives bottle "conditioning" guaranteeing a refreshing fruity flavor. The yeast sediment also leads to the "cloudy" nature of the beer. Care needs to be taken when pouring. Tilt glass and poor slowly. Before pouring last quarter, roll bottle gently back and forward until sediment is dissolved.

Bottled Muddy, orange body. Off-white rocky head which lasts fully. Aroma of flowers, grapefruit, orange, vanilla and liquor. Lightly bitter initial flavour, somewhat more bitter in the end. Lightly bodied and sof carbonation. Not so interesting due to a rather flat flavour.

50 cl bottle. Yeast at the bottom. Unclear golden colour with a nice fluffy head. Lovely aroma of banana, wheat and hints of yeast. Nice soft flavour of yeast, banana and wheat-like, very nice endeed.

Decent German hefeweizen. Poured a bottle-conditioned bronze colour, with a tall, lasting head. Typical hefeweizen aroma: Bananas, wheat. Quenching palate. Slight sourness to this - may be past its best. But not unpleasant.

Pours a clear gold w/ a large white head that quickly disappeared. Sweet, mildly yeasty, grainy aroma. Soft, medium feel. Flavour is somewhat wheaty & fruity (banana) w/ notes of honey & a very quick, dry finish.

(Canned, BBE 03/2007) Very hazy yellow-orange color with a medium, big-bubbled, fading head. Neutral, maybe slightly sweet, citrus-banana aroma. Moderately acidic, not very sweet flavor of wheat and banana with faint smoky hints. Medium-bodied, slicky and foamy-carbonated, quite refreshing palate. Although well balanced, it’s something between a real Hefeweizen and a non-alcoholic one. A bit empty, IMO. Ha - this was the brewery making Clausthaler NA Hefeweizen - I knew it!:)

On draft in Wurtzburg. Poured a golden color with a medium off-white head. Cloudy. Nose of fruit, mostly banana and citrus. Very yeasty. All in all however a decent hefeweizer.

Jeez, the guy below (keeper) is cleary not a fan! 500ml bottle. Cloudy golden colour, with hoppy citrus aromas. Big creamy head. Bitter tasting, with a disapointing thin texture. I could have been a contender.
