Commercial Description:
Schöfferhofer German Wheat Beer Hefeweizen is brewed in Bavarian tradition using wheat malt. The live yeast gives bottle "conditioning" guaranteeing a refreshing fruity flavor. The yeast sediment also leads to the "cloudy" nature of the beer. Care needs to be taken when pouring. Tilt glass and poor slowly. Before pouring last quarter, roll bottle gently back and forward until sediment is dissolved.

Tap at the airport in Dussedlorf, Germany. Poured a hazy golden with a frothy white head. Sweet banana and clove aroma. Taste is lighter than smell, with some banana bread, toffee and lemon. Not bad.

vom Fass. I beleive that some of the yeast was lost in handling. I asked the bartender about how the yeast is kept in suspension in the keg, in contrast to a bottle and he didn’ t have a good answer. White rocky head. Not as cloudy as I would expect. Less banana and clove than other hefe’s. Lots of wheat grainy aroma and flavor. Hints of Ginger. Good carbonation. Nice beer, I’m convinced that some of the yeast was lost by the serving/handling and thus impacted my rating.

Bottle, 500ml. Sweet aroma. Huge white head and typical hefe-colour, a bit on the golden side. Quite light taste, but extremly complex, long finish.
