Commercial Description:
Schöfferhofer German Wheat Beer Hefeweizen is brewed in Bavarian tradition using wheat malt. The live yeast gives bottle "conditioning" guaranteeing a refreshing fruity flavor. The yeast sediment also leads to the "cloudy" nature of the beer. Care needs to be taken when pouring. Tilt glass and poor slowly. Before pouring last quarter, roll bottle gently back and forward until sediment is dissolved.

Hazy orange colour. Beautiful lacing. Citrus flavours predominate. A real gem. Very refreshing.

Bottle (0,5l) Pale orange, cloudy, with aromas of Banana and other esthers. This is definitively one of the worst Waizen-beers you can get in Germany. By the way its not brewed in Southern Germany what is not very typical.

Tap in Tenne resturaunt, via Kim Hotel in Dresden, Germany right outta side Pesterwitz which is like 936 years old. wild. A prime example here. Hazy golden pour reflecting todays loverly weather with a golden sun shinning down. White fluffy ice head with good lacing. aroma is banana, citrus and bread. Taste is mild clove over bananas and some chewy banana nut bread. very nice.

Bottled. A slightly hazy golden coloured beer with a nice white head. The aroma is typical hefe: nice banana together with a little spice and a touch of bubblegum. The taste is banana and colve. Fairly mainstream with a short finish.

1 December 2005, Bottled Best Before Jun 05: Yellow orange colour, slightly cloudy, poured into a Weihenstephan Weizen, decent head, settled to a thin cap, some islands of lace left on the glass. Aroma is mostly of soft bananas and a little lemon. Slightly sweet wheaty taste with banana, lemon and vanilla flavours. Fairly thin mouthfeel. Easy to drink, but not quite Weihenstephan. I’m aware I’m drinking this out of code and bought it at a significantly reduced price because of it. I’m yet to taste this otherwise but it seems to hold up a little after the best before date.

Pale orange, cloudy, robust head leaving lots of lace. Big aromas of banana and sweet spice. Citrus & spice flavours, wheaty with low ester character. Very good.
