Commercial Description:
Schöfferhofer German Wheat Beer Hefeweizen is brewed in Bavarian tradition using wheat malt. The live yeast gives bottle "conditioning" guaranteeing a refreshing fruity flavor. The yeast sediment also leads to the "cloudy" nature of the beer. Care needs to be taken when pouring. Tilt glass and poor slowly. Before pouring last quarter, roll bottle gently back and forward until sediment is dissolved.

Bottled sample. Medium yellow in colour with lots of haze and lots of carbonation. Aromatic notes of banana, apple, and sulfur. Very yeasty in the mouth with a bit of hop spiciness and a bit more banana. Good mouthfeel. Not a bad hefe, but a little too muted for serious consumption. It’s more of a patio drink. Merci Lubiere!

Bottled. Orange, unclear beer with a large, dense white head. Low carbonation. Frauity aroma with some banana. Flavor has some cloves too. Fizzy and creamy in the mouth. Nice and refreshing weissbier. (051210)

Light, deceptively smooth Hefeweizen, nice head and good carbonation. Pleasant fruitish aftertaste, could drink this for days.

A Mes rate: Nothing inspiring or noteworthy to set this apart from any other standard hefeweizen. In fact there are many that are much better. Erm... yeah that’s my rate.

I’ve been trying to find this beer for the last several years. I used to drink it all the time when stationed in Germany, and miss it dearly. It’s by far my favorite beer ever, does anybody know where I can find or order it in the US?

Hazy honey yellow hue, with a rocky white head, with yeasty, spicy, fruity notes of banana and apple, good wheat aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with spicy, maybe cloves, hint of cinnamon, yaesty, wheat malt, fruity charecter, leading towards a good yeasty banana-like finish.

This Hefeweizen pours a cloudy yellow with a bright white head. First sniff, I found cinnamon and cloves along with a little fruit and yeast. Firt sip, was yeasty but had a balanced flavour. The finish was slightly bitter with, of course, yeast. Not bad.

500 ml bottle. Cloudy golden orange colour, thick fluffy white head. Strong banana aroma, clove, wheat, rich baked pear, cinnamon and a touch of caramel. Sweet flavour, banana, bubble gum, a bit of marshmallow. Soft wheaty texture. Nice fruity/spicy finish wiht acleansing bit of acidity. Nice hefe. Apple flavour comes out as it warms a bit.
