Commercial Description:
Schöfferhofer German Wheat Beer Hefeweizen is brewed in Bavarian tradition using wheat malt. The live yeast gives bottle "conditioning" guaranteeing a refreshing fruity flavor. The yeast sediment also leads to the "cloudy" nature of the beer. Care needs to be taken when pouring. Tilt glass and poor slowly. Before pouring last quarter, roll bottle gently back and forward until sediment is dissolved.

On draught in Bingen Germany. Typical hazy and straw colored with a nice head. Flavors not as well pronounced as others I’ve had and not as yeasty. Some faint banana and clove. Medium body. Very fresh though and not at all a dissapointment.

Bottle served in Franziskaner glass: Lovely fruity fragrance containing banana and it has the classic appearance of a Weiss Bier. The taste is also lovely light classic, but it does not stand out of the crowd. All in all a nice beer, because this is Weiss Bier.

This is another fine German Hefe. While not as good as Weihenstephaner or Paulaner it is a close third. I had a 12 hr layover in Frankfurt, and this beer helped me pass at least 6 of them. It has a nice aroma. It is not as fruity as the others, but also not as bready. The head is a little sub-par, but the appearance is perfect and the taste is in good balance. You could do a lot worse than this beer

The first hefeweizen I tried, and still one of the best I’ve had. Came in a big bottle (500mls), cost $8. Poured amber, creamy white head with quite strong retention. Wheat and slight spice aroma. Taste was mild but still distinctive, slight malt, quite hoppy, some banana, little bit of cinnamon and nutmeg. Nice finish, like the taste but dryer. The only thing that bugs me is the price and the huge bottle, was savouring each mouthful and it went flat before I finished! Other then that, excellent.
