Commercial Description:
Schöfferhofer German Wheat Beer Hefeweizen is brewed in Bavarian tradition using wheat malt. The live yeast gives bottle "conditioning" guaranteeing a refreshing fruity flavor. The yeast sediment also leads to the "cloudy" nature of the beer. Care needs to be taken when pouring. Tilt glass and poor slowly. Before pouring last quarter, roll bottle gently back and forward until sediment is dissolved.

500ml bottle: pours a light yellow with a hint of orange. Large white head. A nice looking beer.Aroma is of lemon and yeast with a hint of banana. Light banana flavor and more lemon. Mild alcohol bite. Nice.

Hazy orange, big cloudy orange head. Sweet strong aroma of banana and wheat. Medium-bodied, sour with lemon, wheat and malts. Dry hoppy aftertaste.

Very cloudy, dull orange, yet has strong definition. Nose is quite powerful with good traits and cinnamon. Slightly strange palate; very light weight compared to the impressive bouquet. Has a vegetal note that detracted. No real driver or character. Seems tired.

Solid looking beer with good head retention, quite a plain dry lemon and barley like aroma, the flavour is very strong, citric and bitter. The bitter finish of the beer is very long lasting much to the detriment of drinkability. Overall a slightly over rated beer.

Bottled, just has a ’cheap’ brogue about it. Poured as a hazy gold wheat beer should (in fact, bloody beautiful), with an aromatic clove-like whaft from the glass. Taste was of a grainy - lactic wheat flavour, not disagreeable , but quaffable. Short lemony- coriander bite in the swallow. Sessionable, but not complete as a hefe-weiss.

Bottled from a dodgy looking off-licence in London. Cloudy orange/gold with a thick rocky white head - looks good. Aromas are spritzy citrus with banana and bready yeast. Flavours are yeasty and sweet with wheat and some fruit. Smooth on the palate with a dry finish. Surprisingly decent.

Hazy golden color, medium banana citrus aroma and fresh taste, medium body, long sparkeling finish.
