Appears as a hazy orange beer with a medium white head showing good retention and lacing. Generous aromas of wheat, bananas, cloves and citrus. Tastes of medium sweet wheat malts with a nice citrus lemony finish and a hint of bubblegum. Medium bodied with a tingly mouthfeel. Quite filling in the stomach. A nice German Hefe that hits all the right notes.

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 2, 2009 bottle - pours hazy, light-orange with very frothy white head. The aroma is spicy bubblegum with a hint of creamy vanilla not much fruit detected in the nose. The aroma was promising but unfortunately didn’t quite deliver the taste anticipated, not much citrus present, the flavor was mostly bready and spicy with a slightly more bitter finish than most Weisse beers. Haven’t seen it in the States yet. Pours a hazy orange-gold with a nice, fluffy head. Nose of wheat, yeast, cloves, banana and orange. Flavor is heavy on the wheat with some yeast and citrus notes. Medium body. Smooth and crisp on the finish with a delightful aftertaste. Great stuff. Wolfbass (89), Firenze, Italy

Pours a cloudy orange with a predictably big, soapy head (after all, it’s a hefeweizen). Decent retention, next to no lacing.
Aroma of banana and yeast, with lemon. Medium-bodied weizen, thick, creamy mouth feel. Medium carbonation.
Unlike many Bavarian hefeweizens, this one (from Frankfurt) is less sweet. While banana is the dominating taste, there are also a fresh citric note and some herbal spices to ensure that there are enough bitter and sour notes, too. Finish is sour, and so is the after taste. A solid effort from Binding.
BTW: Weizen beers are better from the bottle than on tap! Nordcore (290), North of, Norway
