Bottle. Pours a rather piss yellow with a thin white head. Not looking at all like a marzen, but more like a premium lager. Ugh. Little skunky, grains and caramel. Grainy with a light bitterness and some paper flavors. Not so good.

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 30, 2009 Slightly hazy with a pale golden appearance… more like the Octoberfests than a Marzen. Nose is quite clean and crackery with a soft pale malt sweetness. There is a nice minerally quality as well as a touch of bright floral hoppiness. It’s got a touch of doughiness on the back but that’s not objectionable. It’s a pretty nice, sessionable lager. Dickinsonbeer (3451), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 6, 2009 .5 L bottle. Pours a very light gold- looks like a helles or pale lager- moderate head, good carb, head diminishes slightly. Aroma is sweetish light malts, also with some slight skunkish lager malt quality- some stale hops and old yeast, very light carapils and almost a fake corn sugar like sweetness- some slight dms herbal- corn character. Flavor is at first doughy and malty then pretty big in the fake thick honey like syrupy sweet sugar, corn like and dms, toast, and some light herbal hops- mostly just sweet and clean malts, crackery dough. Meh- not really to any style really- but somewhat drinkable. robertjm (405), El Cerrito, California, USA

Meh... dumping it into the glass to entice more action did nothing: medium sized white, rocky head fizzles down to a ring with a smattering of splotches here and there, very light yellow gold beer that does not seem coloured poorly despite looking like a low alc brew. The nose is heavily grained and quite fruity with darker citrus than expected and dry grass. I’m really digging the aroma. That could be due to not having this style in quite a while but who cares. There is also something quite perfumy that swirls around the glass. The taste is better than normal that’s for sure. Flowery with grains, dark sweet fruit and some apple. Interesting oddly spiced hops make up the defining impression. Some how I’m given the impression that this is leaning towards the medium bodied side but not quite. Tons of foamy carbonation, slight coating left in my mouth. Finishes attentive with grass and slight but limited length hard bitterness. Sometimes I find that a beer like this will throw me off and get higher or lower marks than deserved and this time I lean towards higher... it’s been a long time since I’ve had a nice lighter flavoured beer. Yesterday, I spent most of the work day cleaning my caving gear in front of my computer and coworkers. Today I feel asleep at least twice in the afternoon. I am the picture of dedication. jfb (416), Weihenstephan, Germany

Aroma of grains, grain, and slight malt. Taste of swetness, grains, and yeast like a hefe. This light to medium bodied brew has no characteristics of an Oktoberfest. This is not a bad beer but definitely is not an Oktoberfest. dm9831 (1167), Monee, Illinois, USA
