Bottle... O-Town Throwdown... Black ale with a mid-sized, wispy, lightly tanned head. Decent retention. Chocolate, vanilla, roasted nut aroma. Dark roasted, singed chocolate flavor. Leans a hair on the bitter side of balance. Medium-bodied and watery with average carbonation. Lengthy, bitter, dry finish. Thanks to Jayg ( I think) for bringing this bottle to the Throwdown!

Bottle acquired as a bonus in trade with stoutlover72. Mild powdered cocoa aromas with some dark chocolate. Medium-bodied (but a good deal thinner than I expected with oatmeal involved), black in color, light tan head. Extremely drinkable, some roast and chocolate throughout, and a mildly bitter dry roast finish. It was nice for a change to drink a beer that wasn’t trying to be the most intense or alcoholic stout out there, just a well-crafted, easy-drinking oatmeal stout. I enjoyed it.

Valley Brew tasting Feb 2007 - Aroma and flavor are roasty and subtly burnt dark malts with creamy mocha and vanilla. Palate is smooth and creamy. Very tasty.

Bomber courtesy of OhioDad. Aroma is chocolate, cream, vanilla, toasty and roasty notes. The body is black with a wispy fading tan head. Fore is bitter and roasty with hearty grain notes and sweet cream and vanilla accents. Seems to get watery (flavor wise) on the back end going bitter and little else. Mouthfeel is solid. Decent, but short of stellar.

22oz Bottle from stoutlover72,THANKS. I must start by saying I cracked this open to celebrate the COLTS afc win and advancement to the super bowl. I tasted it, and right after the first sip, ring, ring, SNOW WORK! Finished a small amount and corked the rest... And it was just as awesome, maybe a small loose of carbonation, but so what. pour was dark, small tan head. Nose was caramel and chocolate in the nose. Dry full mouth feel. taste was sweet and dry, good chocolate and dark chocolate bitterness to finish. Wish I would have saved this to share with some of my Jersey crew.

Thanks to hopdog for opening up this hand filled 22 ouncer... Appears black with a deep chestnut hue. A small tan head slowly fades out. Scattered streaks of lacing are left around the glass. Smell is of cream, light sourness, cocoa, roasted nuts, and rolled oats. Taste is of the mentioned aromas with a mild sweetness up front, dark fruit, and cocoa. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, light tartness with a semi-dry finish and a mild syrup lingering on the palate with a hint of astringency.

Bottle shared at CT V. Aroma was of roasty, chocolate, sweetness and a little maltiness. Flavor was a chocolatey and smooth but this seemed pretty thin. Had a lingering dark chocolate taste to it. Seemed a little weak overall.
