Ceramic bottle. As ‘Donner Bock’. Pours a murky amber/light brown with a small, fast-disappearing white head. Sweet, stingy aroma with notes of yeast and dark fruits. Sweet, alcoholic flavour with notes of dark fruits and a faint burnt note. Same finish, but here the burnt note stands out, and it pretty much sucks balls. Fortunately it diminishes a bit as the beer warms. Lingering grassy notes as well. Oily palate. Overall a not so well-balanced beer, but although the alcohol was by no means well-hidden, it still didn’t feel like the 13% it carried, and it could be kind of okay if not for that really annoying burnt note. 07-11-09.

Hazy orange with a small head. The smell is malty with notes of fruit yeast, detergent and alcoholic fumes. One-sided and boring with some aromas that just seems off. Not impressive. The taste is just awful, and I mean really really awful. Malty sweetness and caramel at first. Then a vile flavor of tart peaches apricots takes over for a second before handing over to a horrible finish of burning cloyingly sweet alcohol and chemicals. After each sip, a chill of disgust runs down the spine. Medium body gentle carbonation - but really, who cares about mouthfeel when you’re trying not to gag. This is just bad. It manages to be one-dimensional while at the same time very unbalanced - there was not one component of the taste that I enjoyed. Stay a way from this one. Bottle. Sweet apple/apricot and alcohol aroma. Orange amber with no head. Sweet orange/apricot malt flavor initially with a surprisingly mild alcohol burn to finish. Nice apricot malt aftertaste. Different but not bad.

330ml bottle (BeerAngel.de) - shared with Mirjukka - thanks!
Blew the fliptop mechanism clear off, smacked the ceiling hard, but didn’t gush. Sweet banana aroma, some terva (pine tar). Slightly sick malty body, overly sweet and boozy. Some DMS too. Quite a bizarre brew, no idea why they did it. Not horrific - in fact it goes down remarkably easily. Hides 13% quite well, seems like only 10% :-I

bottle 330ml EXP 1-2011 shared. Thanks to FatPhil. color hazy orange Opening a bottle sounded explosion to another room Strongly sweet and fruity. Almost drinkable sticky fruity aftertaste. This might be once in the lifetime experience.

’Bottled (as Schorschbock 13 %). Hazy deep orange colour small off-white creamy head. Aroma is alcohol, fruits, mild vanilla as well as some birchwood. Flavour is sweet fruits, quite stingy alcohol sweetness as well as some mild yeasty notes. One of the sweetest and fruitiest Doppelbocks I have had. One bottle is enough. Wellbalanced, but a bit too sweet to be enjoyed in amounts...

Bottle sample at a tasting. Hazy golden. Aroma of grains, alcohol, some smoke and caramel. Very sweet flavor, a bit smoky, with some caramel. Medium-bodied. Not good but OK. Quite an odd Doppelbock.

Shocking one, nice orange color, smoked cheese all over with some nice sweetness, sweet fruity flavor with this smoked cheese and vanilla notes, some fish off flavors in there, not a pleasant one but still different not to score it too low.
