Draught @ Schüttinger Brauerei, Hinter dem Schütting 12-13, 28195 Bremen, Germany.
Light unclear dark red amber color with a average, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white to beige head. Aroma is light moderate malty, toasted, caramel, burnt brown sugar notes, sour malt - soap notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20091029]

On tap at the Schuttinger Brewpub, Bremen 25-10-09 This pub has a very dark interior so preciseness on the colour is tricky but I would say dark brown with a filmy off white head. The aroma is a little metallic but with some malt. Taste is actually vearing towards Pilsner rather than a Dunkel, it’s ok but in truth I was a little disappointed as I’d hoped for better. On tap. Malty smell, a little bit of bitter chocolate. Medium sized white foamy head, normal long lasting. Dark brown body. Bitter taste, medium strong and quite long lasting. Normal carbonation, dry and creamy, medium body. Light astringent finish.

With Dirtman at the brewpub. Beany nostril with rust, earth, coffee and rubber. Very milky, mild-like coffee, watery roast and butter cookie afters. Not quite as impressive as the hell, but a tasty, no-frills dunkel.

Draught at the brewpub. Pours a dark brown colour with medium sized pale brown head and mild roasted nose. Quite weak aroma of roasted malt, caramel and coffee with some sourish notes.

Draught at the brewpub. Hazy brown colour. Nice, big, stable, creamy head. Roasted flavour with a sour note. Turns a little malty with a rather rough bitterness. By no means as good as their Helles.

Draught at the Schuttinger brewpub. Murky brown color. A bit weak aroma with malt and licorice. Malty, toasty and biscuity flavor with some background bitterness. Very basic.

On tap at the brew-pub: Reddish amber coloured; malts and yeast in the nose with a touch of alcohol; sweet malty-bitter flavour; alcoholic finish with a tinge of roasted malts and atouch of chocolatey bitterness. Unbalanced, unharmonic, by no means worth a detour...................
