Aromas of roasted malts, bits of chocolate and coffee. Flavor has a nice bitter roast taste and a touch of hops on the finish. kappldav123 (948), Markkleeberg, Germany Jan 11, 2008 The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass also. Aroma not as malty as exspected. The flavor is also not malty, very vapid, nearly washy. Not a good beer. Maria (3963), Thisted, Denmark Dec 11, 2007 Black/brown, the head is big-bubbly, but rather lasting. The aroma has notes of roasted malt and hops. The flavour isn’t as sweet as many other schwartzbiers, and I like that. It has notes of roasted malt, caramel, a hint of licorice and a slightly hoppy bitter finish. OK, but not one, I’ll buy again.
