Dark brown, nearly black body with thick tan lacing head. Aroma is molasses, malt, grain. Flavor is bitter and malty. Medium to thin palate. Flavor doesn’t match up to the appearance or aroma.

Jun 16, 2008 50 cl bottle. Pours black with a creamy brown & bubbly head. Aroma is roasted malts, coffee & caramel. Some grain. Medium bodied. Light bitter roasted taste which is pleasant! Light sticky. OK!

May 13, 2008 Pours a dark reddish brown color. Aromas of roasted malts, bits of chocolate and coffee. Flavor has a nice bitter roast taste and a touch of hops on the finish.

Jan 11, 2008 The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass also. Aroma not as malty as exspected. The flavor is also not malty, very vapid, nearly washy. Not a good beer.

Dec 11, 2007 Black/brown, the head is big-bubbly, but rather lasting. The aroma has notes of roasted malt and hops. The flavour isn’t as sweet as many other schwartzbiers, and I like that. It has notes of roasted malt, caramel, a hint of licorice and a slightly hoppy bitter finish. OK, but not one, I’ll buy again.
