rabba9 (61), Chaska, Minnesota, USA Sep 13, 2009 Updated: Oct 30, 2009Bottle pours a golden yellow with a thin white head that dissipates immediately. Aroma is of sweet malt. Tastes very sweet with a hint of spices in a slightly bitter finish. Mouthfeel is smooth with moderate carbonation. Decent Oktoberfest/Marzen beer but nothing really stands out about it. delnoche (210), Germany May 9, 2009 Updated: May 12, 200950cl bottle poured into a dimpled mug. Pours a nice honey golden color with one finger of white head that dissipates pretty quickly. Smells like hops and a bit of spice. Definitely hoppy taste with not much other flavor noted. Pleasantly smooth palate with slight carbonation. Finish lasts quite a while. Not bad but kind of boring. trayns (237), Beverly Hills, Michigan, USA Apr 20, 2009 Bottle. Had in the streets of Tubigen with a Bratwurst. Good balance of malts and hops, good body and taste for the spicy food. Good tasting beer, and good price over there. Quack-Duck (3128), Bodensee/Schwarzwald, Germany Mar 2, 2009 bottle. Clear golden yellow, large white head. Malty-fruity nose. Bottle brown, 500 ml,
Appearance pours is beautiful golden body colour, texture is crystal clear, carbonation goes all to head creating a nice looking, huge, dense, compact, frothy, white head, decreasing to small frothy with notes of lacing,
Aroma front is strongly chalky and spicy, gently alcoholic touch, there is also a nice malty sweetness, hops of typical Marzen profile at the top, denoting some sweet bur spicy fruityness and herbal touch, quite easily catchable aroma, rather strong, later on citrusy but had so specify any particularities, the closest is orange peal,
Flavour frotn is spicy fruity but soft, than comes dry, astringent and kind of accidic pronounced grainy background, very grainy and floury, pure and clean, notes of good quality hoppyness, mineral, grapefruit seeds and grapefruit bitterness, sourness towards finish, finish duration is medium with notes of wallnut skin, clean finish,
Palate body is medium, texture is dry, carbonation on palate is soft, finish feel is highly astringent, dry, alcoholi is very well hidden though
