Black/brown, the head is big-bubbly, but rather lasting. The aroma has notes of roasted malt and hops. The flavour isn’t as sweet as many other schwartzbiers, and I like that. It has notes of roasted malt, caramel, a hint of licorice and a slightly hoppy bitter finish. OK, but not one, I’ll buy again.

Bottle from dad picked up at German street market in Manchester Dark brown beer with beige head, aroma gentle roasted malts, little bit of sweetness. Tasted nice and roasty but and whilst pleasant not a lot else there, little bit thin and watery.

Bottle. Dark, almost black. Tan head, some lacing. Roasty malt aroma, sweet syrupy aroma, maybe a little grainy. Flavor is toasted bread, light roaast light chocolate. Smooth medium to full body. Not too bad.

Bottled 50cl. It pours a very dark beer with a tanned head. Chestnut, malt, pineapple, hay and soap in the nose. "Vollwürzig und hopfenherb zugleich" on the label. A pretty cheesy description. But the beer isn’t that bad... Slightly sour with a good hop character in the taste. A nice and strong bitterness. Rather bready. Some herbs, honey and spicy elements are indeed detectable. An extremely well balanced dunkel. Some manure-like elements sneeking in to destroy the beer’s qualities. Decent, nothing more.

Dark ruby color, decent creamy brownish head, some lace. Burned malts and skunky hoppyness in the aroma. Lightly roasted malty/dark malt flavors, notes of woody hops. Short aftertaste. Quite watery and light palate. Harmless and boring schwarzbier.

Very dark brown/ruby, thinnish white head. Nose is light cocoa malt, a bit of grainy malt, some sweet caramel. Flavor is light caramel, dusty chocolate, a wisp of dark fruit.
