Aroma is slightly soapy, hoppy, bit malty. Quite weak. Clear, black coloured with a thin brown head. Taste is sweet, bit metallic, watery. Roasted caramel malty and some hops in it. A hint of bubblegum.

Bottle, 500ml. Completely black as opposed to many other black beers. Big frosty head. Aromas of banana and tobacko. Very hoppy, with an oily body. Sweet abrupt finish.

Attractive dark body with an off white head which is a good centimetre thick and lasts well. Fresh roasted malt nose with a hint of spice too. Medium bodied, and has a firm malty palate, not overy complex, but still flavoursome with a good finish, has a gentle fruity acidlty creeping in. This is good but Dingslebener Lava is better, both worthy of a try tho! Little Germany.

500ml swingtop bottle at Brauereiwirtshaus Sanwald in Stuttgart. Ruby black colour. Off-white, mostly lasting foam. An aroma with dark chocolate and floral hops. Creamy sweet palate with coffee, chocolate, herbs and roasted malt. Smooth, but a bit watery impression (23.04.2006).
