Poured beautifully, with a nice head on it, I was suprised with the bitterness of this one, it had some nice roasty, malt flavor, but bitterness dominated my palate. I like bitterness, so it was ok for me, but the brew seems abit unbalanced, ok, but was expecting better.

This black beer was all over the place. Aroma was intriging with notes of molasses and grain. Not bad I thought. Appearance was near perfect for a schwarzbier, just black as midnight. Mouthfeel I thought was way too thin. Flavor was just alright with a roastyness that was appealing, but given the way it looked and smelled this should have been a grand slam. In the end, it’s a double off the wall. Not bad, but could have been soooo much better.

Dark brown, nearly black body with thick tan lacing head. Aroma is molasses, malt, grain. Flavor is bitter and malty. Medium to thin palate. Flavor doesn’t match up to the appearance or aroma.

Swing-top bottle: Almost black coloured, mid-sized tanned head, quickly diminishing; dry roastmalty nose, traces of molasses and coffee; dry malty flavour with a faint bitterness; dry malty finish with some chocolatey bitterness; pleasant and O.K...................

(Bottle 50 cl) A very classical Schwarzbier, pitch black with a handsome light brown head. Heavily carbonated. Dry and easy to drink without much bitterness. A good example of it’s style. 120201

Pours dark mahogany with a quite decent tan head. Burnt, malty, woody burnt sugar nose. Malty in flavour as well with a dry roastyness. A litlle ashyness is sensible too. Burnt palate.
