Dark ruby color, decent creamy brownish head, some lace. Burned malts and skunky hoppyness in the aroma. Lightly roasted malty/dark malt flavors, notes of woody hops. Short aftertaste. Quite watery and light palate. Harmless and boring schwarzbier. Maria (6299), Thisted, Denmark
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Dec 11, 2007 Black/brown, the head is big-bubbly, but rather lasting. The aroma has notes of roasted malt and hops. The flavour isn’t as sweet as many other schwartzbiers, and I like that. It has notes of roasted malt, caramel, a hint of licorice and a slightly hoppy bitter finish. OK, but not one, I’ll buy again.
