Bottle brown, 500 ml
Appearance: Pours slightly metalic, darkish wheaty - golden, cloudy to murky body, visually the body is gently saturated, head is regular white, initially big, firm and very slowly decreasing to medium, frothy in texture, dense and leaving gentle lacing.
Aroma: Very nicely mild with dominating yeast, wheat, banana, clove and spicy top, well hopped with citrussy - lemony accents, some flowers, coriander, cinamon, carrot, pronounce herbs, gentle touch of alcohol hidden at the background, quite strong, complex and impressive aroma as for a Hefe - Weizen.
Flavour: A classical south - German Weizen of a noble quality, nice smooth yeasty - wheaty texture and palate impression, gentle alcoholic background, some Ale oriented easters, carrot juice, lime, good saltyness and mineral profile, wheat, banana, clove, Provance herbs, really full and satisfying Hefe - Weizen flavour.
Palate: Body is medium, texture is smooth and very soft, carbonation on palate is soft, finish feel is gently alcoholic, smooth and slightly spicy-hoppy.
mcdav2154 (289), Germany Aug 3, 2009 Cloudy golden body with a thick white head. Minor lacing. First smell was a bit suprising cause I never smelt pineapple from a weizen before. After that I got yeast, clove, and a very small amount of banana. Taste was a lot of citrus and clove. Pretty good weizen overall but not the top choice. delnoche (212), Germany May 7, 2009 Updated: May 12, 200950cl bottle poured into a weizen glass. Cloudy gold color with three fingers of white fluffy head, exactly what you expect from a weizen. Smells kind of fruity with a strong yeast smell. A bit of a citrus taste with a little bit of spice and a lot of bread flavor. Kind of tastes like banana bread. Pretty yeasty. Not bad but there’s way better hefeweizens out there. janubio (157), Spain Apr 17, 2009 Very pale cloudy colour, for the style, head is not as big as one can expect and it fades too soon. Not much arome either, some cloves and bananas, but very thin. In the mouth you can feel more the cloves, refreshing, some fruity and spicy, but not much. Not the best of the Weizen beers exactly. Quack-Duck (3129), Bodensee/Schwarzwald, Germany Apr 3, 2009 bottle. Cloudy pale yellow, large white head. Fruity nose. Malty with hints of lemon and banana, with a hopy-bitter character and shy yeast flavours. Ober (1161), Bommelerwaard, Netherlands Jan 7, 2009 A hazy yellow colored beer, with a thick white head. The aroma of malts, fruits and spices. The taste is grassy, with banana flavors and a little yeast. The aftertaste is dry, with a little bittersweet. SkyCop32 (286), Morlautern, Germany Dec 22, 2008 Shared this with Oldrtybastrd. This pours a cloudy orange and has aromas of bread and clove like most hefeweizen beers. This had a little spice mid way and yeast on the backslide. Not bad for a Hefe, but still too clovie for me. Bierkrug (235), Idar-Oberstein (in Pakistan), Germany Dec 1, 2008 Flip-top bottle, Pours with a nice head milky golden color. Nice fruity aroma, light taste with weak body for a Hefe. Over all not bad for a German Weizen but not great either.
