An unpleasant sulphur taste predominates. Vegemite and rank yeast. Might have got a bad bottle. Stringent.

on tap @ Holiday Inn Sydney Airport.. taste is okay but very syrupy and not much roast or anything, perhaps trying to stick to the dunkel style... just not my cup of tea, too sticky for me.

Smokey malt aroma. Dark coca cola colour with great head and lacing. Bitter burnt malt flavour. Smooth palate.

Draught at the Schwartz Brewery (4.9-5.1%). I let this one warm up for about 50 minutes prior tasting. Arrived opaque with an off-white head which was average lasting. Aroma was nutty with roasted malts, creamy espresso, milk chocolate and some coco powder. Flavor was a light bitterness with roasted malts, molasses, smooth milk chocolate, hint of licorice and a nutty finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation and a good finish.

Clear dark brown/red body with off-white head. Sweet body that was a touch smokey, not as much characters as the Bavarian Red.

Big Choclate and coco aroma. dark red/amber in colour (almost brown) nice white head. low carbonation again, thin and watery, with hint of choclate. Short burst of flavour then nothing.

Tap@The Macquarie Hotel, Sydney. Sweet mollasses and caramel, a little bit too sweet, especially given the palate is quite light. Some more sweet chocolate in the finish, with a touch of roasty malt, felt a little stale also.

Draught at the brewpub. Very dark brown, small head. Nutty with loads of molasses and toffee. Sweet with clean, filling mouthfeel. Notes of fatty chocolate. Bold and simplistic both in flavour profile and mouthfeel. Feels almost plastic.
