Poured a reddish mahogany with a thick lasting off-white head. Very faint aroma with sweet malt and a musty cellar-like character. Flavor is predominately munich malt with a touch of caramel malt. A moderate bitterness and a smooth hop flavor. There is no fruity yeast notes that a would have expected from an altbier. Taste very much like it was cold-fermented with lager yeast. Would have made a better munich lager.

Copper body with no appreciable head. Rich malt and some impressive hops. Hints of caramel, molasses, ink. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Roasted malt in the flavor. A mediocre beer.

Bottle - swing-top. Copper bodied with a moderate foamy tan head. Nose is sweet malts, light toasted maltiness, caramel, and faint aroma of grass. Taste is caramel, light toasted malts, light grassy hops, and a pumpernickel-like breadiness. Body is medium with slightly above average carbonation feel. Finishes with more sweet malts, caramel, light toastiness, grassy hops, and dark bread/whole grain bread. Not bad!

11 oz bottle-pours a foamy to rocky light tan head with brown/red color. Aroma is sweet caramel malt. Taste is solid , caramel malt, roasty, followed quickly midtaste by a mild, medium hop. Carbonation is OK upfront that dissipates by midtaste. Medium body. Nice.

Stout little 11.2 oz bottle. Clear dark amber color with light tan head. Mild malt aroma with a hint of bread-yeast. Smooth sweet lightly roasted malt flavor with a light bitter finish. I didn’t pick up on the smoke character of this beer due to the Schlenkerla Marzen I had a few hours prior. Mild in flavor and mild in body yet bold in refreshment. Tasty beer.

Nondescript brown pour with a thin bubbly head. Nice toasted bread aroma, but very muted. The flavor is of roasted nut and a little smoke, but is pretty thin overall.

Ahhh… My first beer since Monday’s devastating run-in with Montezuma’s revenge! Man, that put me out of commission for a few days… SUCKED!
Pours a rustic dark brown body with edges of amber. The ivory head rests tall and resolute. Aroma and flavor start off sweet and slightly smoky, fresh pumpernickel bread, brown sugars molasses and the smokiness of overly browned bread. There is some nutty character and a zesty lemon zest bitterness in the finish. This turned out to be a pretty nice beer by and large… a bit thin on the palate, but nice.

Poured a dark copper with a medium tan head. Lots of caramel and bread in the aroma. Flavor was dense with caramel and malt, with a bitter end. No hops, mostly sour apple. Some fruitiness, with a heavier than expected mouthfeel. Its okay, but not worth doing again.
