Swing top bottle poured a lightly hazy amber with a lasting off white head. Aromas of carmel, sweet malt and fruit. Palate was light bodied and crisp. Flavors of bread and a hint of carmel with a dry moderatly bitter finish. Kinda bland beer!

Bottle, pours cloudy light brown decent light tan head, good lacing. Slighty sweet light carmel malts, no real hops tastes. Nothing to special with this brew, nothing offensive but fairly boring.

swing top bottle. pours a sandy clouded tan with a bit of a head that turns to a ring quickly. dusty caramel nose. gummy tree sap flavor, some sugar cane flavor here. a bit of cardboard lingers here. the thing that gets me most is that i apparently should have drunk this by the 88th day of 1073, i didn’t know they were using swing tops with a rubber stopper back then. i must say this has held up pretty well considering it has just a medium amount of oxidation. so i give out my congratulations to a brewery that can brew a beer to last over 900 years and still taste like mediocrity. good job folks, take a bow.

Pours a nice darkish amber, topped by an inch or so of nearly white foam. Decent head retention, a little bit of lacing. Mild caramel malt in the aroma. Good malt flavors here - with toasted malt being the most prevalent. Some caramel malt and some grain round it out nicely, making it almost but not quite sweet. It finishes closer to the dry side, but not all the way dry, providing a tasty toasted malt finish. Good noble hop balance throughout, becoming a little more prominent in the finish. Medium body with moderate carbonation, this beer is smooth and very soft. Another very drinkable Schwelmer bier that I truly enjoyed. I think I’d like to try a three-liter mug of this sometime - preferably with some cheese, knackwurst, and a tall blonde gal named Helga.

.5 liter swing top, best before 88 10 73, yeah you go figure what the heck that means. This company is rampant in Russian NY, swing top only of course. They all relatively suck, you know this may be one of the better ones. Pours with no head and a small lacing. Color is light orangy amber. Aroma is kind of wack with a soapy fruit cardboard, sweet mouthwash. Taste is better, some bready malt with a sweet fruity flavor, slight citrus. the taste still seems slightly stale and some pils malt in there as well I believe. A slight fruit aftertaste, low bitterness. Deflated mouthfeel.

Bottle: Golden yellow color, nice and thick white head and plenty of lacing. The nsoe is creamy with some light toasty and malt. Some light hop and wheat in the flavor along with a scosh of biscuit and plum. Nice light citrusy hop in the finish. A vienna?! Whatever. Nice light german ale though.

Pours bright orange into a shaker. Off-white micro head with excellent retention. Clean malt and sweet citrus aromas. Thin and sweet with a lasting slightly bitter finish.

The aroma is similar to cereal with caramel and herbal hops. The appearance is golden brown with a slight red hue. The head is insignificant. The flavor is like butterscotch with malt, honey, and grass. The palate is thin with a trace of oak in the finish. The date is strange. 88/10/73
