Dusty fruity nose with some toasted malts. Soft carbonated toasted malty taste with a touch of caramel and a lasting quite bitter & clove-spicy finish. Has a medium, though quickly diminshing head. Aroma is full of banana and bubblegum with notes of cloves and gingerbread. Taste is dominated by banana. Also quite prevalent are bubblegum, cloves and gingerbread flavours. Sweetish. The finish is a tad watery, maybe. Not much carbonation. Which leads me to mention that there seems to be no yeast sediment in the bottle. The little head, seems to confirm that. That makes sense with regard to the 1 l bottle, as a decent weizen has to be poured out all at once, to get that yeast to spread through the weizen. On the other hand no bottle conditioning means no good head, less carbonation. Still, I found this to be a decent tasting dunkelweizen, which could be better and more refreshing if they would bottle it in 0.5l bottles and have some bottle-conditioning in there.
