Swing top bottle poured a cloudy golden yellow with a large creamy lasting white head. Aromas of wheat, yeast, banana and dough. Palate was light bodied and crisp. Flavors of wheat, dough, light banana and a hint of spice with a crisp clean finish.

1/2 swing top bottle. Pours to a very hazy, golden color, with a tall, rocky, white head, and a lively carbonation. The nose is excellent, with lots of good funky/estery aromas of ripe banana, and bubble gum. The palate is tart and refreshing, with good pale and wheat malt flavors, paired with fruity, estery flavor of banana, and spicy hints of clove. This beer finishes with more good tart wheat malt up front, then ends estery and spicy, with yeasty clove flavor that lingers. Well done example of Bavarian hefeweizen from Schwelmer. I really enjoyed this beer, and I really like this brewery.

Pours a cloudy straw color, topped by a couple inches of white foam. Poor head retention, moderate lace. Clove in the aroma, little else. Good banana and spicy wheatbread flavor initially. Oddly, by the time I get to the bottom of the glass, the taste fades a bit. Ditto for the carbonation - initially very nice, then leaning toward the flat side at the end of the glass. The body? Yup, the law of diminishing returns holds sway there too.

Bottle. Head is initially large, frothy, white, mostly lasting. Body is hazy medium yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain/bread), lightly hoppy (herbs), lightly yeasty (cobwebs), with light notes of gum, plastic, pepper. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, velvety/creamy texture, lively carbonation. Plasticky-gummy smells aren’t attractive for me, very little of the desired/expected tartness, and just not that interesting. Nice appearance and mouthfeel is about it.

1/2 litre bottle. Hazy yellow with a big sudsy white head. Very banana-fruity aroma. Sweet and milky, very much banana-based, light in body and light in the other weizen-y areas ... little yeastiness, no spiciness.

Bottle, thanks MoritzF! Cloudy orange yellow, big creamy eggshell head. Clove foremost, banana, light bubblegum aroma. Medium grainy body, banana and clove chaser, ends on the bubblegum. Pasta and banana aftertaste. Very nice.

Nice nose on this one, had hits of lemon. Cloudy with lots of fizz. Good overall. I’d have this again.

The aroma is light with bananas, cloves, citrus, and bread but very little bubblegum. The appearance has a haze to the gold color and a medium head. The flavor has malt, yeast, incense, spices, and bananas. It is lightly bitter. The palate is OK but a tad thin. This is an unremarkable but drinkable Hefe. Also it is worth mentioning that the best before date is cryptic at best (mine is 88 10 65)???
