| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Oct 12, 2006 The aroma is light with bananas, cloves, citrus, and bread but very little bubblegum. The appearance has a haze to the gold color and a medium head. The flavor has malt, yeast, incense, spices, and bananas. It is lightly bitter. The palate is OK but a tad thin. This is an unremarkable but drinkable Hefe. Also it is worth mentioning that the best before date is cryptic at best (mine is 88 10 65)??? Nel (180), Virginia, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 15, 2006 sometimes hefeweizens have a bread smell AND a banana smell. Other times weizens have a banana bread smell. This one smells like bananna bread. Light clove, orange peels, bubblegum, and citrus round off the aroma. Pours out a hazy orangish yellow. A nice head that can be easily influenced by the pourer to suit his or her tastes. The flavor is interesting. Ripe bananas and chex cereal are at the forefront. It finishes off with some doughy yeastyness that was highly enjoyable. One of the better hefeweizens that I have had. kopher (309), New York, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 1/5 | 14/20 | Sep 15, 2006 .5l "Best Before End:" 881068. Right. This pours a very yellowish haze with a lot of with fizzy head that disappears quickly. There is a fairly strong set subtle-ish aroma of bananas and cloves, a bit of citrus. Taste is also a bit weak, but classic hefe flavors are certainly there. It is the thinnest beer I have ever had. Also the flattest, with a slight touch of fiz at the back. Overall a mediocre hefe that seems to have gone old (maybe its 881068 BC?). jimhilt (1694), Bow, New Hampshire, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 16, 2006 Pours a five finger white head that fades quickly to a ring leaving traces of lace, thick layer of yeast left in bottle. Cloudy light amber color. Light carbonation and light bodied. Piney nose. Starts with a sweet piney flavor, can’t taste the yeast, nice wheat. $2.75 for a 500ml bottle from John’s Market Tigard, Or. And the worthless drivel on the bottle - best before end 88 10 58. ??? GG (1682), NorCal, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 16, 2006 Quite an excellent find here, and it went perfectly on a warm California evening watching my A’s play the day before July 4th. The aroma was very fruity with notes of peaches, bananas, clove and some breadyness. Appearance was a slightly hazy golden yellow with a really beautiful creamy head that had staying power. Mouthfeel was creamy and smooth, and quite the suprise. Flavors were very crisp with fruity notes being first and foremost. After a bit of digging you could pick up some cracker and some yeast but the fruit forwardness of this beer made it really hard to get anything other than, well...fruit. Very enjoyable and highly recommended if not for the quality, then the price is right too. BitchesBrew (712), Oakland, California, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 5, 2006 [bottle] Nice wheat aroma, with some citrusy sweetness. Pours a cloudy golden brown color, with no head to speak of. Initially, the lack of carbonation strikes me, above all the flavors. Perhaps this one is going downhill? Still- nice crisp wheat, with some clove and slight bubblegum in the finish. I’ll have to try thing one again- it seems like a solid Hefeweizen, but it’s hard to get past the lack of any carbonation. | 1.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 1/5 | 4/20 | Aug 5, 2006 No head at all, barely even any carbonation. Perhaps I got a bad bottle. Fairly faint, but decent aromas of yeast, wheat, some slight spiciness and bubblegum-type sweetness. The flavor is slightly citrusy, but pretty bland and didn’t have not a lot of the usual hefeweizen magic. I may have to try this again to be fair--it was probably just a bad bottle... nevertheless, I was disappointed. Juelze (925), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 24, 2006 Pours a nice pale yellow color with large head that fades quickly. This beer has a great aroma of banana and clove and a bit of floral bouquet. Taste is much like a normal hefeweiss with banana and clove at the forefront of flavor. Carbonation is spot on and it’s very smooth in drinkability. A excellent hefeweizen
