The taste was not as distinct as I expected but was pretty good. If you are expecting a strong banana and clove aftertaste it is not in this beer. Overall it was good but I have had better hefeweizens. malrubius (1002), Valley Stream, New York, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 23, 2008 500ml bottle in weizen glass. Cloudy orange with dense, slightly loud, white head. Clovey banana aroma. Nice orangy banana clove honey flavor. Good soft mouthfeel. Good complex hint of bitterness. Medium-light body, medium-low carb makes for pleasant drinking. Very good. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 13, 2008 Bottle. Clear, straw yellow with a nice head that doesnt stick around too long. Aroma is mostly banana with some sulfur. There’s a crisp orangeness thats offset with some spiciness of clove and a nice dryness. Best Hefe ever? Probably not but not bad. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 12, 2008 500 ml. bottle on 3/12/2008. I’m always wary of beers in fancy bottles with swing tops, etc., as many are all show and no go, but this is a very nice hefeweizen.
It pours a cloudy gold with a large, foamy, and very long lasting white head with some beautiful lace. Typical aroma for the style, although the banana esters are quite strong and dominant, with clove being more subdued. Some bready, yeasty notes round out the aroma. Light to medium body, lively effervescence, and welcome smoothness on the palate. Some honey like sweetness contrasts with a soft, lemony sourness that is understated yet appropriate. Some lingering sweetness in the finish could use some balance for a bit more dryness, but this is still a very nice hefe. nuplastikk (1206), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Mar 8, 2008 500ml bottle. Pours a golden foggy yellow with a massive, lively head. This is a really nice, smooth and refined Hefeweizen. Cool and creamy, with some nice banana yeast characteristics. Sweet yeasty aftertaste with a hint of lemon is right on. This one is awesome. Fresh clove-banana aroma. scottw86 (183), Maryland, USA

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 20, 2008 Bottle: Typische yellow color with a slight haze. Scents of banana and slight citrus. A bit too acidic, not too far off but not of Ayinger standards. Radek Kliber (3962), Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), Ontario, Canada
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 1, 2008 Bottle (swing top) 500 ml
Appearance: Hazy amber orange with medium sized brisk top. 3+ Nose : Strong hints of dusty wheat with citric side to it. Sensible , classis wheat aromas. 7- Flavor/Palate : Full bodied wheat which is rare find. Smooth grainy , wheat-oriented flavors with light fruity bready touch . I like straight forward old school weizen. Much more defined than its alt bier they make . Solid brew.
